Sandler is one of the top comedic talents in Hollywood. "In the back of my mind, I always thought this will be interesting to have one day because this guy's going to be a big star," he says. Apatow videotaped some of the prank calls - mostly for his own amusement, but maybe there was something more. Sandler would pose as an elderly Jewish woman calling to complain to a local deli about the gastrointestinal pain caused by the food. He was obsessed with them and was very convincing, according to Apatow. Sandler used to hone his improv skills by making phony phone calls.
